How do I turn on two-factor protection?
Account & SecurityLast reviewed Oct 8, 2026
Two-factor protection asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app each time you sign in, on top of your password.
- Go to Settings, then Security, and choose Enable.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (or type the key into it).
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows. The code changes every 30 seconds.
- Save the 10 backup codes shown to you. They are shown only once.
To turn it off, you need your password and a current code from the authenticator app. A backup code isn't accepted for that. Turning it off signs out your other devices.
